Position Overview:
The Quality Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory testing accurately, efficiently, and on time to support product conformity and production requirements. The position requires speed, adaptability, a results-oriented mindset, rapid response to testing priorities, and proper use of laboratory measurement and testing systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Laboratory Testing & Results (85%)
- Perform routine tensile, weld, dimensional, weight, and other required laboratory tests.
- Complete testing accurately and within required turnaround times.
- Verify test results against established specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Immediately identify and escalate Out-of-Specification results.
- Maintain sample and test-result traceability.
- Complete and verify Quality Certificates / Certificates of Analysis when required.
- Record test results accurately in the designated systems.
2. Measurement Systems & Laboratory Equipment (10%)
- Properly use laboratory testing and measurement equipment.
- Verify equipment condition and calibration status before use.
- Follow established measurement methods and testing procedures.
- Immediately report equipment or measurement-system issues.
3. Laboratory Compliance & Support (5%)
- Maintain laboratory organization and sample identification.
- Follow Quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
- Adapt quickly to changes in testing priorities based on production needs.
- Respond quickly to priority testing required by Production or Quality.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Required laboratory tests completed within established turnaround time.
- Required routine tests completed according to established testing frequency.
- Out-of-Specification results immediately identified and escalated.
- Verification of equipment calibration status before use.
- Accurate and complete test-result data entry.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Laboratory, Quality, inspection, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of measurement systems and laboratory measuring equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply company, customer, and industry specifications and testing requirements.
- Experience with ASTM, DOT, ISO, NTPEP, or similar manufacturing/quality standards preferred.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive testing while maintaining accuracy and speed.
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Able to work 12 hour days – 5 days per week

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The Quality Control Technician works in an industrial wire mesh manufacturing environment in Texas, with exposure to machinery, metal products, production noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Duties include inspecting and measuring products, collecting samples, documenting results, and working with production personnel.
The position requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as bending, reaching, stooping, and occasional climbing. The technician must be able to safely lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 55 pounds and perform repetitive hand and arm movements as needed for quality inspections and material handling.
