General Description and Classification Standards
The Airport Operations Representative I ensures the safe and efficient operation of the airport by performing duties related to airside, landside, and/or regulatory compliance operations. This role monitors, tracks, and coordinates aircraft and passenger movement, enforces airport security regulations, and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. The position requires working shift work, including weekends and holidays.
Supervision Received
Works under general supervision. Receives direction focused on accomplishing objectives outlined in airport policy and regulatory procedures. May work independently or with other professionals to complete assigned tasks.
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or College in Airport/Aviation Management, or a closely related field. Equivalent professional experience, including extensive interaction with the general public will be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis.
Licensures and Certifications
• Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license at the time of employment.
• Must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint-based criminal history records check with no disqualifying crimes within the last 10 years.
• Ability to obtain an ATL SIDA Badge and a Customs and Border Protection Seal.
Essential Capabilities and Work Environment
• Must be physically able to operate a variety of job-related machines and office equipment.
• Must be able to move or carry materials related to job duties.
• Requires the ability to communicate professionally and effectively under stressful situations.
• Must be adaptable to working in high-pressure environments and emergency situations.
• Shift work is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Salary differential applies for shift work.
