The Role
Fidelity Asset Management Solutions (FAMS) is a leading manager of multi-asset portfolios for retail and institutional clients, with more than 40 investment professionals and approximately $1 trillion in assets under management. The range of investment solutions includes target date funds, target allocation funds, income strategies, and outsourced CIO (OCIO) services for endowments, foundations, and corporate defined-benefit (DB) plans.
The Multi-Asset Class (MAC) Quantitative Research Team within QRI provides research and analysis to FAMS portfolio managers and other investment professionals in support of our broad range of investment solutions. This research is vital in helping portfolio managers to select the most suitable investment options and manage asset class and risk exposures across all investment solutions we deliver. Team members either work directly within a specific investment team as embedded analysts or support all investment teams as central analysts.
In partnership with their manager, the intern will work across teams to identify business needs and lead a generative AI project through implementation. The intern will also analyze data to support ongoing research and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Key responsibilities of the intern include:
- Support research initiatives across risk modeling, alpha identification, asset allocation, and portfolio construction
- Partner with stakeholders across Trading and Product to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions and integrate AI models into existing processes
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in a quantitative or STEM-related field, graduating in late 2027 or 2028
- Experience building and evaluating generative AI solutions, including large language models and AI agents
- Ability to develop innovative ideas independently and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong professional presence and communication skills across all levels of an organization

The Team
Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) is an investment and research division within Asset Management at Fidelity. QRI is responsible for managing and developing quantitative and hybrid quant/fundamental investment strategies and solutions while also providing high quality quantitative, data-driven research to Fidelity’s investment professionals, ensuring they have access to the most relevant data and advanced quantitative analysis.
Fidelity’s Asset Management Internship Program
As a participant in Fidelity’s Asset Management internship program, you will gain hands-on training, receive mentorship from investment professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects and key deliverables. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time opportunity upon graduation.

The base salary range for this position is $30 - $42 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
