We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) - Markets & Securities Services (MSS) - Markets team as a Sales Associate in Jersey (Channel Islands) , covering Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Corporate and Institutional Sales sits within HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and serves Corporate and Institutional clients across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man (CIIOM) . This role will use your knowledge and markets expertise to strengthen and build trusted client relationships, originate ideas, and drive revenue - taking opportunities from first conversation through to execution and seamless post-trade service, while connecting products, geographies and internal teams to originate and convert cross-sell opportunities.

You will also partner with International Wealth & Premier Banking (IWPB) Expat , supporting local balance sheet market risk management and contributing to key initiatives and governance.

In this role you will:

- Generate Markets sales revenue and deliver against return targets

- Demonstrate high professionalism. Build, maintain and deepen meaningful trusted relationships with clients

- Identify sales opportunities to address specific clients’ needs and manage them end-to-end from business development / origination → onboard & execution → on-going service and maintenance

- Provide day-to-day sales coverage for Corporate and Institutional CIIOM Clients and support the team in delivering consistent Client Service

- Grow penetration and wallet share across the full Markets product suite

- Build cross-product and cross-geography connectivity to unlock cross-sell

- Run structured client engagement (sales calls, outlook discussions, client events) aligned to assigned Markets and sectors

- Support smooth day-to-day desk operations including performing credit limit and client reviews, issue resolution, and high-quality and timely execution, whilst supporting the desk with ad-hoc requirements and projects

- Maintain a thorough understanding of the front-to-back control environment, operating within internal/external laws, regulations and policies

- Deliver fair outcomes for clients and escalating issues early

- Support IWPB Expat initiatives and governance participation as and when required

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Proven sales experience within financial services, supported by strong Markets product knowledge, including foreign exchange instruments and interest rate derivatives.

- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at the appropriate level of technical expertise.

- Confident and effective written and verbal communication skills.

- A sound operational risk mindset, combined with a high level of attention to detail.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; manage competing priorities under pressure; onboard new client names; and maintain the existing client book.

- FCA CF30, or ACI equivalent, qualified, including relevant derivatives and UK regulations examinations. Equivalent experience may be considered where it meets local and cross-border requirements for non-advisory sales activities.

- Role is based in Jersey and must be flexible to travel to Guernsey, Isle of Man and London (when required)
