The Leak Survey Technician II is responsible for inspecting natural gas systems to detect and document leaks, ensuring public safety and regulatory compliance. This role involves fieldwork, technical equipment use, and coordination with repair crews.

What you ʼll be working on:
- Performs all duties of Laborer.
- Accurately detects and classifies above & below ground gas leaks during inspections both walking and with mobile detection.
- Performs Leak investigation, migration and repair of minor leaks.
- Performs Patrolling of pipelines (Walking).
- Utilizes internal tooling and equipment to complete all leak survey activities.
- Works assigned route to complete customer and compliance orders in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
- Deactivates gas service and assists in the activation of gas service.
- Conducts regular meter inspections, painting and maintenance of above- and below-ground gas systems.
- Completes basic tasks using hand tools, including leak investigation.
- Assists Operations Crews with leak detection as needed.
Who you are:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year of experience in the gas industry or underground utility construction preferred.
- Valid drivers license
- Proficiency in using electronic leak detection devices
- Demonstrates proficiency pinpointing and grading below ground leaks
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time in all type of weather conditions
- Ability to interpret blueprints, plat maps, and project plans
- Must be able to read at normal comprehensive level.
