Salary range: $150-190k depending one experience
This will be a hybrid position - remote with travel to various sites
MasTec Power Delivery is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of foundation scopes supporting major transmission line and substation projects .
This role will have overall responsibility for delivering foundation work safely, on schedule, within budget, and to project specifications. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Estimating, Procurement, Project Controls, subcontractors, and customers to coordinate complex foundation activities from preconstruction through completion.
The ideal candidate has significant experience managing large-scale civil and foundation construction , preferably within the utility, transmission, substation, or heavy infrastructure sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead project execution for transmission and substation foundation scopes from preconstruction through completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Oversee foundations for transmission structures, substations, equipment, steel structures, and associated civil work.
- Coordinate engineering, surveying, geotechnical requirements, material procurement, equipment, labor, and subcontractor activities.
- Partner with field leadership to establish efficient construction methods, sequencing, and production plans.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including scope, performance, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Monitor project performance and proactively address schedule, cost, resource, and technical risks.
- Work closely with Engineering to resolve design issues, constructability concerns, RFIs, and field changes.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of concrete, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, specialty materials, and other critical foundation components.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, utilities, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting on cost, schedule, safety, quality, progress, and risks.
- Manage change orders, project documentation, forecasting, and commercial issues.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, engineering specifications, safety standards, and MasTec policies.
- Drive lessons learned, process improvements, and best practices across foundation projects.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience in construction, with significant experience managing civil or foundation scopes.
- Experience with transmission, substation, utility infrastructure, heavy civil, or large-scale foundation construction strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, excavation, drilled foundations, spread footings, piers, piles, and related civil construction.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and forecasts.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, productivity, and field execution.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project and field locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing foundation scopes across large-scale transmission line and substation projects.
- Experience with drilled piers, micropiles, driven piles, spread footings, mat foundations, equipment foundations, and structural foundations.
- Experience working with electric utilities, EPC contractors, or major infrastructure owners.
- Experience managing projects with $50M+ total project values or significant multi-project portfolios .
- OSHA, PMP, or other relevant construction/project management certifications.
