About this role
Job Summary
Manages accounts in the Rail Plus Business Unit and will design, market, and sell CSX Transportation (CSXT) services to Intermodal customers while managing a portfolio size of approximately $20 million.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Manage and increase the value of an assigned portfolio of channel partner accounts in the Domestic Rail Plus business segment.
- Prospect for new customers within an assigned market.
- Negotiate and close large, complex commercial proposals in conjunction with all relevant CSX groups, including Marketing, Service Design, Operations, Customer Service, Industrial Development, etc.
- Create and execute strategic account plans for a limited number of customers
- Establish measurements and feedback mechanisms to ensure customer requirements are met on a daily basis.
- Lead and strengthen business relationships within CSXT and customer organizations while pushing each for improved performance or increased business levels.
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 1 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business/Strategic Management, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, or Finance
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business/Strategic Management, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, or Finance
Knowledge and Skills
- Leadership, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
- Analytical, financial, and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle complex Fortune 500 accounts
- Transportation or railroad industry
- Ability to relocate for purposes of transfer or promotion
- Mainframe and personal computer systems
- Ability to effectively deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
