Electrical Commissioning Technician, Construction

The Electrical Commissioning Technician plays a critical role in performing hands-on testing and verification of electrical systems to support commissioning activities. This position ensures that all work meets applicable codes, specifications, and project standards. The technician provides skilled technical support during commissioning and testing under the direction of the Electrical Commissioning System Owners.

- Prepare required PPE, testing equipment, and review Pre-Task Plans with System Owners to ensure readiness and alignment for daily commissioning activities
- Verify electrical installations against design specifications and code requirements, collaborating with project and support teams to identify, document, and resolve discrepancies
- Conduct functional and performance testing, troubleshoot electrical systems, and maintain compliance with established SOPs and safety protocols
- Accurately complete and maintain commissioning documentation, checklists, and test records
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to the development of commissioning procedures and assisting in the training of new technicians and contractors

- Hands-on experience in electrical commissioning or testing, including functional verification, troubleshooting, and compliance with electrical codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NETA ATS/MTS, and other industry standards
- Very Strong understanding and working knowledge of NFPA 70E standards and electrical safety requirements
- Strong organizational skills for managing documentation, timesheets, and daily work planning
- Collaborative attitude, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills when working under the direction of System Owners
