Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is the nation’s leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances has an immediate opening for a Shipping Supervisor for it's Oxford facility.
This position will lead the warehouse staff to operate and facilitate the daily workload of both inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring safety, quality and on time delivery to our customers. This role ensures safe operations, consistent product quality, efficient workflow, and alignment with company standards and The McWane Way principles.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
•Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
•Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products and materials.
•Identify appropriate resources, perform daily workload assignments, and make staffing adjustments.
•Develop and share best practices with team members.
•Oversee product shipments to customers in an accurate and timely manner.
•Motivate and coach fellow team members.
•Be a leader in Continuous Improvement efforts to ensure quality, productivity and safety.
•Ensure the distribution center is always maintained in a clean, safe and organized manner.
•Monitor daily and weekly team performance and provide feedback and coaching.
•Manage Inventory Control reports according to company standards.
•Pick, pack and ship orders, store product, and receive incoming transfer orders and containers.
•Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise the distribution staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and workflow; tracking and reviewing performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university preferred.
•At least three (3) years of Supervisory experience in a distribution or manufacturing facility required. Combination of supervisory experience and higher education may substitute.
•At least three (3) years’ experience with inbound and outbound LTL shipments in a medium to high volume distribution or manufacturing facility.
•Prior cycle count management experience and or Physical Inventory procedure experience required.
•Prior experience with an ERP and/or WMS system preferred.
•Forklift experience preferred and/or the ability to pass testing to become a certified forklift driver.

•The physical requirements required to perform this job include moderate lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds; overhead or above shoulder reaching; bending at the waist occasionally; pushing/pulling a maximum of up to 50 pounds un-wheeled; twisting torso at the waist; use of fingers and both hands; ability to grasp medium with right/left hands; ability to flex/extend right/left hands; ability to do repetitive work with hands; ability to exert medium arm/hand force with right/left hands; ability to wear gloves on right/left hands; ability to use tools with right/left hands; ability to write; maximum standing of one hour per day; maximum sitting of five hours per day; maximum walking of two hours per day; kneeling; squatting; climbing using arms and legs; moving neck forward/back and turning right/left; ability to work in a wide temperature range; ability to work in high humidity; ability to work inside/outside; ability to work with solvents or chemicals, such as casting coating and fuels; ability to work around moving machinery; and ability to operate a crane, truck, forklift, or other moving vehicles.
•Must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
