The Role

Evvy is building the clinical evidence base for a new category: using the vaginal microbiome to predict and improve fertility outcomes.

We're looking for a Chief Medical Officer to own Evvy’s clinical position in fertility. You will own the design and scientific integrity of our studies, and the credibility of their results with the reproductive medicine community. You’ll lead the design of our clinical studies, rigorous enough to hold up to peer review and built from day one to support publication, clinical utility, commercialization, and a data asset that keeps its value beyond the trial timeline. You’ll work with our data science team and our study execution leads to take them across the finish line.

You’ll present that work to the field and get to work closely alongside Evvy’s founders, leadership team and Fertility Advisory Board to push the company’s vision forward.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how an entire field thinks about the vaginal microbiome's role in fertility, from the inside of a company with the data, the patients, and the momentum to make it real. This role is for someone who is equally energized by research, innovation, and shaping an entirely new category of care.

We are open to a full-time hire or a part-time hire (for doctors who want to maintain their clinical practice / academic affiliation).

What You'll Do

Own Clinical Study Design & Strategy

- Lead the design of our prospective interventional study:endpoints, inclusion and exclusion criteria, randomization, power calculations, complete protocol. Design the study to support strong clinical utility, peer-reviewed publication, and drive commercial adoption of Evvy’s fertility offering.
- Optimize evidence generated within an agreed upon budget and timeline with Evvy’s Exec team.
- Bring research expertise and rigor to how we sequence and prioritize our study pipeline
- Leverage Evvy’s Fertility Advisory Board and other outside clinical experts as inputs to the design. Own IRB submission strategy and ensure the design withstands scrutiny from the broader medical and research community

You will work with our internal data science team and dedicated study execution lead who owns enrollment, sites, and day-to-day operations.

Serve as Evvy’s clinical leader in the field

- Act as Evvy's senior clinical voice in the fertility and IVF community
- Represent Evvy at major conferences (e.g., ASRM, ACOG) and with key opinion leaders in reproductive medicine
- Serve as internal co-Principal Investigator alongside an independent external PI, presenting study data to the field
- Build and deepen Evvy's relationships with IVF clinics, REI doctors, and fertility societies
- Shape our long-term clinical credibility strategy across providers, payors, professional societies, and guidelines.

Partner on Product Innovation & Clinical Strategy

- Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes through stratifications, treatment protocols, intake flows, and educational interventions
- Serve as a fertility subject matter expert across Product, Growth, and R&D
- Translate clinical and operational insights into scalable product improvements
- Act as clinical thought partner to the founders and the board

What We're Looking For

Required:

- Board certification in reproductive endocrinology with an established standing in reproductive medicine
- A current academic appointment or equivalent research standing
- A substantial peer-reviewed publication record, and direct experience designing and running clinical studies. Prospective and randomized experience is strongly preferred.
- Active participation in relevant professional organizations such as ASRM
- A demonstrated ability to design studies against a budget and a timeline. We are looking for someone who is able to prioritize endpoint selection, cohort size, and trial duration with both a scientific and business lens.

You are:

- Interested in leveraging the vaginal microbiome to improve fertility outcomes
- Someone who thinks about clinical study design with both scientific rigor and business context — across endpoints, budget, and timeline
- Comfortable operating independently as an external, credible voice — distinct from and outside of Evvy's internal team — while still being a true partner to us
- Willing to have Evvy as your only senior role with a private company

Helpful but not required:

- Expertise in the vaginal microbiome or novel diagnostics
- Experience bringing a diagnostic through payor coverage or into clinical guidelines
