Job Summary:
The Assistant Womens Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting all aspects of the womens basketball program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the administration of all phases of an NCAA Division I womens basketball program.
- Help develop and supervise the student-athletes in the womens basketball program, by supporting the head coachs strategies to motivate maximum levels of individual and team performance.
- Assist in recruiting and retaining academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, working directly with the Admissions Department.
- Along with the head coach, monitor student-athletes academic progress.
- Support the head coach in promoting a philosophy of educational welfare, sportsmanship and conduct in alignment with the Universitys mission.
- Assist in organizing, preparing and supervising all training practices and game day contests.
- Assist in ordering of athletic gear.
- Assist in coordinating all travel.
- Assist in the positive promotion of the womens basketball team.
- Adhere to all MAAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the supervisor.
Hourly Rate: $15.92 - $16.39
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

- Creative, innovative and self-motivated individual with the ability to work creatively in an atmosphere of limited resources.
- Commitment and sensitivity to the Jesuit and Catholic ideals that form the mission of Saint Peters University; and willingness to integrate these ideals into all aspects of the Athletics Department.
- Reports directly to the Head Womens Basketball Coach.
- 50% instruct, teach and assist in the development of players during practices. Follow and conform to NCAA rules and regulations.
- Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to community engagement, service, leadership development, or related work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing and maintaining community partnerships.
- Experience working directly with community-based organizations.
- Familiarity with service-learning, civic engagement, volunteer management, or leadership development programs.
Education:
- Bachelors degree required. Preferred competitive coaching experience in womens soccer at the high school or college level. Knowledge of MAAC and NCAA rules and regulations for compliance. Have the ability to work with students, faculty, staff, alumni, boosters, college administrators.
- Video and computer experience preferred (Synergy).
Licenses:
- Must have a valid drivers license in good standing.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to sustain workouts and practice for hours several times a week with the team.
