Red Seal Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter - Artemis Blackwater Mine - Future Opportunities

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter to join our Camp Services team at Artemis Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia, approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. The Red Seal Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter is responsible for maintenance, modifications, and installation/dismantling of plumbing systems.

This position operates on a 14/14 or 28/14 rotation schedule, working ten (10) hour days. The rate for this position is $45.00-47.00 an hour. Rates may be subject to change.

Responsibilities

- Complete timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects / deficiencies
- Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
- Provide input for the planned and scheduled work and assist with the completion of the committed schedule
- Assist with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects
- Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

- Journeyperson Certified Plumber (Red Seal) with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Gas Fitter B ticket is required
- Current certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform
- Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to read drawings and blueprints
- Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety
- Abilities to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials.
- Basic PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
- Professional communication skills, oral, and written.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Work well under pressure.
- Effectively solve problems.
