About the Business Associate Internship Program

Dodge & Cox is seeking undergraduate students who are interested in investment management to join our Business Associate Internship Program. This ten-week, full-time summer internship provides students with meaningful experience within a department that supports Dodge & Cox’s investment business.

Interns are placed on a specific team where they contribute to project work and day-to-day responsibilities while gaining exposure to the broader firm. Throughout the summer, interns also participate in information sessions and learning opportunities designed to deepen their understanding of Dodge & Cox, the investment management industry, and the functions that support our clients and investment activities.

Department assignments may include:

- Investment Operations
- Legal and Compliance
- Business Integrations
- Human Capital
- Communications
- Technology
- Client Service
- Shareholder Services
- Corporate or Fund Treasury

By the end of the internship, interns will have developed a broader understanding of the investment management business and how teams across Dodge & Cox work together to support the firm and deliver long-term outcomes for our clients.

Successful interns may be considered for opportunities in Dodge & Cox’s full-time Rotational Associate Program.

Qualifications

The Business Associate Internship Program targets undergraduate students with strong academic achievement from a wide range of disciplines. All majors are welcome.

Candidates should demonstrate:

- A strong academic record (minimum GPA 3.3)
- Interest in financial markets, asset management, or wealth management through coursework, internships, and/or extracurricular involvement
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others
- Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset
- Adaptability and openness to learning about different areas of the firm
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and thoughtfully
- Quantitative aptitude; experience with Excel preferred
- Demonstrated interest in using AI tools to improve productivity and quality in academic, professional, or personal settings
- Initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A high level of integrity and professionalism

The hourly rate for this position is $35.00.

The listed pay scale denotes only the hourly rate for the Business Associate Intern position. Dodge & Cox provides a relocation package or optional housing for all summer interns.
