About this role

At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America, where SMBs’ financial needs are met without ever having to go to a bank.

R2 enables platforms across Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can leverage, starting with revenue-based financing. We are a high-performing, close-knit team with talent from organizations such as Google, Amazon, Nubank, Uber, Capital One, Mercado Libre, Globant, and J.P. Morgan.

We are entering a new phase of growth following a strategic investment from Ant International, focused on rapidly expanding our partner footprint, strengthening our credit and underwriting capabilities, and scaling operations across multiple markets. As part of this growth journey, eligible team members have the opportunity to participate in R2’s Phantom Share Program, a performance-based incentive designed to align our team with the company’s long-term success and value creation. We believe in building a culture of ownership, where those who help create value share meaningfully in it.

We are looking for a Director who will be the senior single point of contact for the most relevant stakeholders of our country operation (strategic partners, prospective clients, tech vendors, external advisors and regulators, in addition to

R2 relevant teams) and will lead the relationship management with our strategic partners as well as other growth-related initiatives in the country, including business development, strategic partnerships, and new business initiatives.

This is a high-ownership role that blends strategy and execution: you will own the launch of the Netherlands market and then have the ownership to maintain and grow our country's operations. You will report directly to the Chief Growth Officer and work hand in hand with R2's Product, Legal, Risk, Data, and Finance leadership teams, as well as with our launch partner and external advisors.

What You Will Do

- Single point of contact for key relationships: As Director, you will have a 360 degree view of R2's operation in the Netherlands, spanning partnership development, product requirements, and critical relationships with strategic partners, prospective clients, external advisors, regulators, banks, and local vendors. Working hand in hand with specialized teams that will own the technical execution in their respective domains, you will stay close enough to every dimension of the operation to ask the right questions, connect the dots across teams, and make sure Growth, Product, Finance, and Legal are pulling in the same direction to ensure smooth operations in the Netherlands.

- Launch ownership: Own the launch of our Netherlands operations and potentially of other European markets. Build the launch playbook and drive it across Product, Legal and Compliance, Risk, Data, and Finance, bringing every workstream to launch on time. Track progress against the plan, proactively surface and resolve blockers, and hold every team accountable to milestones. Keep momentum across a fast-moving, cross-functional launch with many moving parts and a fixed timeline.

- Business development responsibilities: Manage relationships with R2’s most strategic partners in the Netherlands. Run the day-to-day executive relationship (relationship with Champion and key executives at partner companies) with those partners, with the intention of understanding partners’ strategy and interests and leveraging our capabilities for both parties to be aligned on future growth.

Core platform growth: Own the entire growth strategy with our current partners, including setting growth and profitability targets as well as platform success metrics aligned with our partners, identifying growth metrics and executing the implementation of those. Lead and analyze key metrics regularly, owning the results and the review process with partner counterparts and internal teams. Work with Product, Risk, and Finance teams, identifying main trends and drivers of deviation against business projections and suggesting immediate action plans to address discrepancies and improve business metrics. Organize frequent coverage meetings, as well as monthly update meetings with key stakeholders and formal quarterly presentations with partners’ most senior executives.

- Strategic Partnerships Responsibilities: Support the strategic partnerships team in developing the funnel and closing deals with prospective partners in the Netherlands. Represent R2 at top fintech and industry events across the region, building a strong network and identifying new partnership opportunities ahead of the market.

- New Business Opportunities: Participate in the development and launch of new segments, products, and countries, leveraging our relationships with our strategic partners in the Netherlands and also with attractive platforms with potential to become R2 partners. Work with the Growth team in setting and keeping updated a framework to evaluate new growth avenues. Support analysis, strategy definition, approval and execution for new business opportunities.

Who You Are

- Commercially fluent and credible with senior external counterparts, comfortable holding substantive conversations with platform executives, financial institutions, legal advisors, and regulators.
