Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Full-time: Benefit Eligible

In this role, you will:

- Culture cells of various types using appropriate culture media and techniques
- Harvest cell cultures using appropriate techniques such as mitotic arrestants, cell releasing agents, cell fixatives, etc.
- Prepare microscopic slides using routine and banding techniques.
- Analyze chromosome preparations microscopically.  Prepare several karyotypes per case.
- Perform fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) on cytogenetic preparations and paraffin embedded tissues.
- Analyze FISH preparations microscopically, capture images and prepare reports.

All you need is:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
- 3 years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.

Bonus points if you’ve got:

- 5+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within area of specialty.
- Experience writing complex ISCN (International System for Human Cytogenomic Nomenclature)
