About this role
As a Maintenance Specialist you will:
- Repair, maintain, and install machinery and equipment
- Assemble, level, and connect equipment (electrical, air, gas, water)
- Dismantle and reassemble machines as needed
- Modify or build new equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
- Train operators and supervisors on new or updated equipment
- Work flexibly across different areas and always prioritize safety
- Perform duties in accordance with sound safety practices.
The ideal candidates is:
- Skilled in machinery repair, electrical work, and welding.
- Proficient with electronics, schematics, and ladder logic.
- Experience with lathe, milling machines, and industrial systems.
- Strong in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.
- Able to read blueprints, follow safety procedures, and handle hazardous materials.
The hours for this position are Sunday - Friday 11:30pm - 7:30am. Shift may vary +/- 30 minutes on beginning and end of shift time.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience that successfully demonstrates mechanical and electrical ability.
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift and carry items weighing up to 50-100 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs occasionally.
- Ability to constantly stand and walk. Ability to frequently bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, and reach at/above shoulder level.
- Ability to frequently work in awkward positions and occasionally work from ladders.
- Must have basic computer skills.
This position is located in Lawrence, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.
