## Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in evaluating, consolidating, and designing the tools and frameworks that empower our development teams with the fastest and most reliable infrastructure. You will leverage your extensive experience with cloud platforms, especially GCP and AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD methodologies to build scalable, secure, and automated systems.  We have a hybrid setup with a mix of cloud and in-house infrastructure and systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in deploying, managing, and maintaining both real hardware systems and solutions and cloud-based ones

This position is based in Vancouver, BC, and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver area, as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities include:

- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure primarily on GCP, andpotentially other cloud providers, utilizing best practices for high availability and disasterrecovery.
- Identify areas for optimization, consolidation, and modernization to enhance efficiency,reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with our architect to develop, champion and build a strategic roadmap for our future-state infrastructure, aligning with business objectives and developer needs.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform,CloudFormation, or similar, ensuring modularity, reusability, and version control.
- Implement robust CI/CD pipelines that automate software delivery from code commit toproduction deployment, incorporating automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates.
- Implement and manage containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g.,Kubernetes, GKE, Google Cloud Run, ECS, EKS) to support microservices architectures.
- Drive automation across all aspects of the infrastructure lifecycle, including provisioning,configuration, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g.,CloudWatch, Google Cloud Observability, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure systemhealth and performance.
- Establish proactive alerting mechanisms and define key performance indicators (KPIs) forinfrastructure and application stability.
- Champion a DevOps culture within the organization, promoting shared responsibility,continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Implement security best practices throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, including identity andaccess management, network security, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and internal security policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practicalexperience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role, with a strong focus on cloudinfrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience in compiled language software development (ideally C++/C#)
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such asCompute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions, and GKE.
- Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Deep understanding and practical experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms(Kubernetes, GKE, Google Cloud Run, ECS, EKS).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud architecturepatterns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate withcross-functional teams.

Bonus:

- Experience building node, C++ or .NET project
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, and a strong commitment to observability.

The base salary range for this position in British Columbia is 110,000 - 140,000 CAD.
