The successful candidate will manage an existing team of software development engineers, partnering with other managers, to design, build, and operate innovative Media Supply Chain- Localization management software. With a high degree of ownership, you will develop our proprietary solutions end-to-end.

Who we are?

The Source Plan (SP) team builds and maintains Global Localization product for Amazon Studios' proprietary digital media supply chain, a comprehensive platform that manages the complete lifecycle of digital media assets from creative inception through final distribution. Our platform serves as the digital backbone for all first-party content produced and owned by Amazon Studios, providing a single pane of glass view for billions of images, videos, audio files, and documents. The Source Plan team develops and maintains secure, scalable, low-latency, and reliable services that handle authoring Localization Plan of Record (LPOR), Localization workflow management responsible for delivering artifacts like subs, dubs, force narratives etc. for Amazon Originals, integrate with 3P vendors and agentic automation for material handoffs, infer 1P and 3P AI models to localization material generation and QC. Our unified digital asset management solution features highly configurable ingestion, approval, and distribution workflows that seamlessly integrate within the Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios ecosystem, connecting with internal systems for data exchange and enrichment.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage overall software development life-cycle of Global Localization product for Media Supply Chain.
• Manage multiple software engineers in one team.
• Work closely with engineers to design and build innovative products in a large distributed computing environment.
• Foster culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics.
• Hire, coach, and mentor individuals; build a strong cross-functional organization.
• Work with a diverse customer base to understand requirements, priorities, and processes.
• Own all operational metrics and support.
• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.

• Work closely with engineers to design and build innovative products in a large distributed computing environment.

• Lead programs that create and distribute Localization materials to 1P and 3P streaming partners.

About the team
You will be managing an existing 2-pizza team based out of LA, which will interact/interface with 4 other sister teams that exist in the program and multiple other cross functional teams in the org.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
