Structural Engineering Specialist

STV currently has an opening in our Franklin, TN office for a Structural Engineering Specialist . In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for the Transportation department. Responsibilities:

- ## Participate in a variety of planning, design, and construction projects.
- ## Assist in developing technical design reports, calculations, and memos.
- ## Use software to design structural elements such as bridges and retaining walls.
- ## Develop construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications.
- ## Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders and develop content for these meetings.

Qualifications:

- ## A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- ## A basic understanding of structural engineering fundamentals.
- ## Familiarity with civil and structural design software.
- ## A strong desire to work with and help clients, public stakeholders, and fellow team members.
- ## Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- ## A desire to work on large multidisciplinary projects with fast-paced schedules, which require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
- ## Valid driver’s license.

Other positive attributes:

- ## An engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
- ## Experience using MicroStation and/or OpenBridge.

Compensation Range:
$68,451.28 - $78,230.03
