## About the Role

Club Pilates is looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Instructor to join our studio leadership team.

The Lead Instructor is more than an exceptional Pilates instructor; this role serves as a leader, mentor, and key point of connection for the instructor team. Working closely with the General Manager, the Lead Instructor helps ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for our members while supporting instructor development, maintaining Club Pilates standards, and building a positive and collaborative team culture.

What You'll Do

Instructor Leadership & Development

- Serve as a leader and resource for the studio's instructor team.
- Support the onboarding and development of new instructors.
- Complete onboarding checklists and first-month audits for new instructors.
- Conduct annual instructor audits and attend instructor classes throughout the year to provide support and feedback.
- Conduct quarterly one-on-one check-ins with instructors.
- Identify opportunities for instructor development and communicate team training needs to the General Manager.
- Track instructor Continuing Education Credit (CEC) progress and communicate updates to the General Manager.
- Complete a minimum of 6 CECs annually.
- Identify and nominate potential Teacher Training Leads.
- Help create and lead instructor workshops and development opportunities.

Team Communication & Culture

- Share studio announcements, meeting information, events, and continuing education opportunities with the instructor team.
- Take and distribute meeting notes following instructor team meetings.
- Help recognize instructor and member milestones and accomplishments.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment.
- Serve as a liaison between the General Manager and instructor team.
- Communicate staff concerns or issues to the General Manager promptly and professionally.
- Partner with the General Manager on performance-related conversations and Performance Improvement Plans when needed.
- Assist with incident reports and other team-related documentation as appropriate.

Scheduling & Studio Support

- Teach a minimum of 3 regular shifts/blocks within our srudio district, including at least 1 Intro class per week.
- Partner with the General Manager to build and maintain the studio class schedule.
- Post quarterly class schedules according to established deadlines.
- Monitor and manage instructor sub requests and approvals.
- Help ensure adequate instructor coverage and communicate coverage concerns to the General Manager.
- Be available to teach when appropriate coverage cannot be secured.
- Partner with the General Manager to plan themed classes, workshops, Open House programming, and other studio events.
- Recommend instructor staffing for studio events.

Quality & Club Pilates Standards

- Help maintain high standards for class quality, member experience, professionalism, and brand presentation.
- Hold instructors accountable to expectations around reliability, punctuality, class performance, leadership, team contribution, and member experience.
- Monitor instructor participation in staff meetings, workshops, events, and continuing education.
- Identify opportunities to improve the member experience and overall studio performance.
- Help identify opportunities for additional classes, workshops, and programming that support the studio and its members.

Equipment & Studio Safety

- Perform monthly equipment checks and monitor props and equipment for wear, damage, or needed replacement.
- Complete quarterly hands-on equipment checks to ensure equipment is safe and functioning properly.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to studio leadership and document required follow-up.

- Comfortable using studio software and learning new systems.
- Someone who takes initiative and looks for ways to make the studio better.

The Lead Instructor should be someone the instructor team can turn to for support and guidance, while also being someone studio leadership can rely on to communicate concerns, identify opportunities, and help move the studio forward.

Compensation

This is a non-exempt, hourly position .

Lead Instructors are compensated for all hours worked, including teaching time, required meetings, trainings, and other assigned responsibilities.

In addition to the hourly rate, Lead Instructors are eligible for additional class-based earnings for:

- Group classes
- Private sessions
- Semi-private sessions

Private Training Assessments, when assigned, are compensated at the applicable hourly rate.

Specific compensation will be discussed during the interview and offer process.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to safely demonstrate and teach Pilates exercises and equipment-based movements. The role may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and demonstrating exercises, as well as the ability to safely handle Pilates equipment and studio props.
