What You’ll Do
As VP Brand Management you’ll be leading the Authentic Brands Group’s expansion efforts for the Lifestyle brands. The VP - Brand Management will report to the Executive Vice President Authentic responsible for the overall management and growth of various footwear, home, and apparel brands. In this critical role, you’ll work with corporate leadership to execute a strategy focused on increasing Authentic’s brand presence in these territories. We’re seeking a driven leader with extensive knowledge of brand licensing who has a strong network of contacts in the licensing and retail sectors to join our team. The VP will have overall P&L responsibility, including annual business development goals, current licensee royalty streams, execution of marketing initiatives, and managing administrative costs standards throughout the creative process
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Business Development: Spearhead business development initiatives with existing partners that align with the company's overall strategic objectives.
- Manage Multiple Initiatives: Oversee multiple business and licensing initiatives simultaneously, ensuring projects remain on strategy, on schedule, and aligned with commercial objectives.
- Serve as Brand Steward: Act as a key steward of the brand, supporting overall brand direction, positioning, and long-term growth.
- Ensure Brand Compliance: Implement and communicate brand guidelines to ensure all licensees consistently execute the Licensor's creative and strategic direction.
- Protect Brand Integrity: Maintain brand integrity across all licensed product categories while overseeing and managing the design calendar for licensed products.
- Identify New Opportunities: Explore and develop new licensing and business opportunities in partnership with the Business Development team.
- Manage Renewals: Lead and execute renewals with existing licensees while identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Drive Licensee Performance: Oversee the continuous improvement and development of licensees, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with brand and business objectives.
- Build Strong Partnerships: Develop and maintain productive relationships with licensees, prospective partners, internal stakeholders, and other key business partners.
- Deliver Presentations & Business Plans: Develop compelling presentations, business plans, and strategic proposals to support new business development and existing partner growth.
- Analyze Business Performance: Utilize business and market analytics to evaluate opportunities, monitor performance, and support strategic decision-making.
- Execute with Excellence: Manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization, detail, responsiveness, and follow-through.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fashion licensing and/or fashion licensing management.
- Proven track record and strong professional experience in fashion and brand management.
- Demonstrated understanding of how licensing opportunities are identified, structured, negotiated, and executed.
- Proven experience securing, negotiating, and managing licensing agreements across a variety of product categories.
- Strong understanding of brand positioning, product development, and the licensed product lifecycle.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop compelling presentations, business plans, and strategic proposals.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate opportunities and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Highly motivated with a relentless drive to achieve results, win new business, and close deals.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational, project management, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree required; law degree/J.D. is a plus.
Primary Location Salary Range: $170K-$180K
