In this position...

As a Buyer at Ford Motor Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation by leading commercial negotiations, managing critical supplier relationships, and optimizing costs. You will be an integral part of Ford’s Global Supply Chain organization, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that the right supply partner is chosen to deliver the best product on the right vehicle, at the right price with outstanding quality and on-time performance. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and exceptional negotiation, written and verbal skills who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced and collaborative environment. This role focuses on the procurement of steel and aluminum stamped parts and welded assemblies. The role has a high-level of interaction with Product Development, Manufacturing, Supplier Technical Assistance, and MP&L at all levels.

You'll have...

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or another related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the Automotive industry
- 3+ years of manufactured commodities and manufacturing processes experience

- Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or another related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the Automotive industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic procurement software
- Experience with Stampings and Structural Assemblies
- Strong business and commercial acumen and excellent written and verbal abilities.
- Ability to build solid relationships with teammates, suppliers, and cross-functional team members by fostering teamwork and collaboration in a virtual and face-to-face environment.
- Proficient with juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously, staying focused on deadlines, handling complex projects efficiently, and solving open issues in a timely manner.
- Strong analytical skills (sourcing evaluations, business case studies).
- Strong negotiation skills (creating leverage in both offensive and defensive situations).
- Cost analytics (understand commodity cost drivers, part cost breakdowns, gap to optimal cost).
- Strategic mindset and the ability to understand current challenges facing the automotive industry.
- Possess creativity, energy and pursuit of learning and development to drive commodity expertise.
- Persuasive and convincing communication skills (e.g., proposals, reports, plans) to secure commitment from business leaders.
- Ability to interpret organizational needs and commercial strategies as input into global Category Strategies.
- Strong working knowledge of Purchasing policies, procedures, and systems.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.,

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.,

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
