Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will onsite at our Palmdale, CA location working a 4/10 schedule, Shift 1 (5:00AM-3:30PM PST).

- Position is onsite, unable to accommodate a telecommute/hybrid schedule.

In this position you will drive end-to-end material strategy and execution as a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist, leading inventory, capacity, and distribution planning across complex programs. In this role, you’ll own the master plan for material flow—from make/buy decisions and critical-path procurements to coordinating purchasing, warehouse operations, and internal/external customers—to ensure on-time delivery. You’ll also provide day-to-day leadership to a team of nonexempt employees, assigning and monitoring tasks across receiving, stocking, and shipping to keep operations running smoothly and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and execute end-to-end material strategy, including assessment of supply resources and prioritization of demand requirements.
- Plan inventory, distribution requirements, and rough-cut capacity across all products, leveraging dependent and independent BOM data.
- Participate in make/buy decisions and support long-term capacity and resource planning.
- Analyze and aggregate supply/demand requirements and adjust supply plans based on inventory and demand changes.
- Coordinate with sourcing, purchasing, integrators, warehouse personnel, and customers to manage material flow from receiving/warehouse to production and offsite facilities.
- Review requirements for non-standard parts, analyze lead times, and identify/drive critical-path procurements.
- Negotiate lead times and manage schedules with internal and external customers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance and successful execution of Receiving, Stocking, and Shipping activities, assigning and monitoring tasks for a team of nonexempt employees.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business administration, supply chain, or related field; 5 years of related work experience in lieu of degree. 3 Years experience with Masters; 1 year experience with PhD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S Government Secret Clearance and a Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

- ​ 49CFR Certification and IATA Certification
- Experience within the Aerospace or Aviation industry.
- Experience with FAR/DFAR.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
