SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Director’s key responsibility is to lead a team of sales representatives in new customer acquisition and growth of existing accounts within their territory. A successful Sales Director holds themselves and their team accountable to achieving sales goals and performance through ongoing development, coaching and management. The Sales Director serves as a key field leader, supporting enterprise sales and customer experience strategies while collaborating with operations, marketing, and sales enablement teams.

Location : Remote; regular travel required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead, coach, and develop an assigned team of Business Development Representatives, driving performance, accountability, and professional growth.

- Lead and manage assigned Business Development Representatives to maximize sales performance and achieve or exceed regional and corporate goals, in partnership with VPs.

- Drives the performance of sales representatives within an assigned region through providing sales strategy and support, metrics analysis and ongoing coaching.

- Develop and implement targeted market sales strategies.

- Support, advise, coach and mentor sales team members on all aspects of their roles including internal/external resources, to stay current on industry trends, best practices, and analysis of competitive information.

- Maintain strong, healthy pipelines to support consistent prospecting activity and achievement of business development goals.

- Identify individual and team training needs to ensure sales success and professional development of team members, including market intelligence, relevant sales strategies, and competitive pricing.

- Communicate and proactively drive KPIs with a keen focus on new business opportunities.

- Utilize technology such as CRM (Salesforce) and reporting dashboards to lead through actionable insights.

- Support the team in developing customized solutions that align with the unique needs of prospects and customers.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant B2B, vertical market, or related sales experience.

- Proven track record of leading successful sales teams and consistently achieving or exceeding performance goals.

- Demonstrated experience coaching, developing, and managing sales professionals.

- Working knowledge of contract negotiation, deal strategy, and closing complex sales.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, coach, mentor, and develop Business Development Representatives.

- Ability to set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and drive individual and team performance.

- Demonstrated ability to identify strengths and development opportunities and create actionable plans to improve performance.

- Ability to motivate and engage team members while fostering accountability and a high-performance culture.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use sales data and metrics to identify trends, assess performance, and drive improvement.

- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs while effectively leading the team through change.

- Strong communication, presentation, listening, and relationship-building skills.

- Ability to develop and execute team growth strategies aligned with business objectives.

- Proficiency with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, and ability to leverage technology to manage team activity and performance.

- Proactive and professional approach with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.

- Travel required; schedule and frequency to be determined by business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will directly manage up to 6 individual contributor Business Development Managers responsible for driving the acquisition of new customers and facilitating the expansion of existing accounts within their local market.

Salary Range : $114,900- $137,900 annually, d epending on experience and geographic location plus eligibility for incentive pay, subject to plan terms.
