About this role

Purpose and Scope:
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient execution of the quality program by leading and managing QC personnel in the operation and maintenance of the Program QC Plan. Maintain and administer quality and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Maintain adherence to quality requirements established under ISO 9001. This position is essential in development of plans and programs for achieving and maintaining quality throughout contract life cycle; monitoring operations to verify adherence to quality plans and requirements; and analysis and investigation of adverse quality trends or conditions. Quality assurance focuses its activities on a team oriented protocol in the identification, prevention, and correction of unsatisfactory conditions or elements which negatively influence resource productivity, safety and customer support.

Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the health and safety environmental policies and procedures to protect the safety of the public, NASA, Navy and Contractor personnel. Comply with corporate, state, federal and local regulations and contract requirements.~Deliver and track new employee safety orientations. Develop and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.~Participate in the safety committee meetings to bring union and management employees together as a team to address site related safety, health and environmental concerns.~Coordinate with the Prime Contractor's Safety and Environmental personnel and federal/local government agencies. Provide guidance to managers and supervisors to assist them in the interpretation of and compliance with quality related contract requirements.~Correspond with insurance loss control experts and claim representatives to strengthen the company worker's compensation and loss prevention program.~Assist human resources with a credible workers compensation program including developing a strong return to work policy.~Continuously monitor and evaluate employee exposure to work conditions and make recommendations for accident prevention. Evaluate a changing work environment for hazards and identify means to eliminate and/or control the hazards.~Maintain safety, health and environmental records. Support issuance of work permits for continued improvements of quality and safety.~Conduct special evaluations, quality surveys and audits. Compile reports and findings of surveys and audits for company officials for review and make action recommendations as required.~Conduct accident investigations. Complete and maintain required reporting.~Maintain current files of all technical documents, instructions, procedures and requirements necessary for implementation of an effective quality assurance program.~

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelors’ degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Business Management or related field and 5 to 8 years of experience or equivalent combination of related training/experience; with at least two (2) years in a QA/QC capacity and two (2) years in a management role. Possess excellent written and oral communication and strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills. Experience with MS office (Excel and Word) and integrated software applications. Detailed-oriented. Knowledge and application of quality principles and techniques, and the pertinent characteristics associated with Air Force test and training range and critical base mission activities are desirable. Knowledge of statistical methods, ISO 9000 standard, Lean Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies and standards such as (29CRF 1910 and 1926), NFPA 101, and ANSI. Knowledge of the relationship of quality assurance to other activities such as contract administration, engineering, and supply. Experience conducting studies, investigations, and problem analysis, and developing logical and documented recommendations. Qualify for and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance as required by assigned contract. Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Routine travel to contract operational sites is required.

Compensation Details:
$20,000-$200,000
