About this role
Purpose
This role is designed to support our Early Supports team by providing evaluative, therapeutic, and consultative services for children who are delayed or disordered in speech, language, feeding, cognitive, and/or hearing abilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work a variable schedule, as determined and mutually agreed upon by your direct supervisor based on Kinderings needs
- Assess each childs developmental level of functioning; conduct formal evaluations of performance as needed
- Participate in Individual Family Service Plan conferences in cooperation with Family Resource Coordinator
- Design and implement treatment plans in support of the childs outcomes on the Individual Family Service Plan and provide services to the child and family in the natural environment
- Prepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each child
- Participate in the development of each childs total program as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Design and/or assist in developing alternate communications systems, coach primary care givers in therapeutic interventions
- Make referrals to appropriate community or Kindering programs, support groups, and other services
- Provide or support outreach, intensive informing, care planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services, consultation, resource development, interagency coordination, training, program planning, quality management, and administration to support Medicaid programs
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Masters degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology (in fulfillment of the requirements of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association); eligible for Certificate of Clinical Compliance
- Valid Washington State professional license
- Experience working with children who have neuromuscular and developmental disorders
- Feeding therapy experience preferred
- Spanish fluency preferred
Key Competencies
- Family-Centered Service Delivery: Builds strong partnerships with families, provides therapeutic services in natural environments, and coaches caregivers to support child development and IFSP goals.
- Clinical Assessment & Intervention: Conducts developmental assessments, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and monitors progress using evidence-based practices.
- Collaboration & Care Coordination: Partners effectively with interdisciplinary team members, coordinates referrals and resources, and ensures comprehensive support for children and families.
Minimum Prerequisites
- Possess a valid Washington State DOH SLP license or be in process of obtaining one
- Pass the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) criminal history and background check, as well as the FBI fingerprint check
- Strictly maintain the confidentiality of all client information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
- Demonstrate proficiency in word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Access
- Possess a valid Washington State driver's license and maintain valid automobile insurance coverage
- Have access to a dependable personal vehicle for transportation purposes
- Possess the physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Provide documentation of a negative tuberculosis test result
- Provide proof of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccines, or submit a titer test result demonstrating immunity*

- Provides services in homes, childcare settings, community locations, and Kindering sites, requiring a flexible schedule and regular local travel.
- Frequently sits, stands, walks, kneels, bends, reaches, and works on the floor while interacting with infants and young children; may occasionally lift or carry children and therapy materials.
- Maintains accurate records, completes evaluations and reports, and collaborates regularly with families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
