About the Role:
Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing implant products for the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) group. This includes technologies that monitor, support diagnosis and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. AIS provides devices and therapies for a patient’s entire continuum of care, from diagnostic to treatment. This division strives to innovate and create a paradigm shift that can solve unmet clinical needs and change what is possible for patients.
The Latitude Server Subsystem team is responsible for the verification of the Latitude Server, which stores and manages critical patient and device information, including patient events (such as cardiac episodes and pacing rates), device status, delivered therapies, parameter settings, and other relevant data.
Healthcare professionals, including physicians and clinicians, use the Latitude Server to review patient events and device status remotely. This information supports their assessment of patient conditions and helps determine whether additional patient follow-up or clinical intervention is needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in developing and building systems that assist in creating automated test scripts leveraging AI and machine learning tools
- Support the integration of AI-driven approaches into existing test frameworks
- Work with the subsystem team to find and implement engineering solutions to simulate testing systems to eliminate dependencies on real-time environments
- Collaborate with engineers to analyze requirements and design effective automated test solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with Java, Python, Data-Structures, Web frameworks, Databases
- Familiarity with Generative AI and Agentic AI, with hands-on experience applying these technologies through academic projects or previous internship experience.
- Current rising junior (grad dates between Dec 2027 - May 2029)
- Working towards a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering.
- Must be able to start internship on May 17th or 24th, 2027 and work for 12 weeks
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Preferred qualifications:
- AI: Deep learning models, LLM, ML basics, RAG, Agentic applications
- Medical industry experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
