Supply Planner

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of planning and inventory management for imported and domestically sourced products. They will ensure product availability at defined locations based on demand and local inventory targets and will be responsible for maintaining targeted inventory levels while utilizing defines supply chain processes (such as safety stock setting and inventory stocking strategies). Interacting with Customer Care they will provide status reports on product availability for customers’ orders as well as with Product Management and Sales to manage the back orders and allocation process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- End-to-end accountability for supply chain planning (e.g., demand planning, weekly forecast adjustments, covering shortages and monitoring inventory levels at 20 Branches) and drive continuous improvement of the Demand Planning process.
- Will be responsible for inventory planning at critical supplier sites.
- Will maintain demand & supply plans in ERP based on financial plans & opportunities using sound understanding of current SCM concepts.
- Manages supply issues, shutdowns, new demands, unhealthy stock levels.
- Build relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
- Must be able to execute on the global sourcing strategy to ensure low-cost materials for the production of goods.   
- Ability to drive demand portion of the S&OP process while collaborating closely with Production and Sales team to exchange and validate demand/forecasts.
- Responsible for inventory levels and future projection for finished products and establish inventory strategies in support of sales.
-  Collaborate and participate in process improvement projects.
- Must be able to evaluate reports on future demand and take action to cover forecasted demand 60 days out or longer.
- Must maintain monthly inventory budget within 5% of projections
- Your entrepreneurial mindset and resourcefulness will be essential as you steer both the demand and supply planning as well as communicate effectively to negotiate cross functionally throughout all levels of the organization. Your participation in weekly sales meetings to fully understand business challenges.
- Releases purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and handle all purchases to support the business as needed
- May perform other duties as assigned.

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or related field preferred.
- APICS certification or nearing completion of certification will be considered an asset.

Work Experience

- 3-6 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or related business function
- Knowledge of querying/database/spreadsheet applications (e.g.  Excel, MS Office) will be essential as you work daily with computer systems to meet objectives.

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
