The Director of Support Services provides senior level leadership and direction for non-24-hour licensed and unlicensed Home and Community Based Services (HCBS). This position ensures that services delivered meet internal quality standards and that services with licensure requirements are in alignment with the applicable rules and regulations. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with employee onboarding requirements for both HCBS services and CDPHE licensing requirements which includes training and oversight of Electronic Visit Verification when applicable. The Director of Support Services is responsible for establishing the program budget and for monitoring program financials to maintain responsible financial stewardship and for setting metrics and evaluating new admissions that contribute to the program's financial stability. In conjunction with the Deputy Director, this position plays a key role in identifying and executing program strategies that promote smart, sustainable growth to maintain access to services for people with disabilities.
Compensation: $92,000 to $101,200 annually
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides direct supervision to Program Managers and ensures proper supervision of direct support staff in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
Location: 11177 West 8th Ave. Lakewood, CO 80215
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8am to 5pm with some after-hours requirements as required in the role or for continuity of services in accordance with applicable licensing rules.
Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership and direction that promotes efficient operational and cultural excellence
- Maintain program compliance with HCPF and CDPHE rules and regulations that apply to both licensed and unlicensed HCBS services
- Promote strong financial stewardship by adhering to billing and financial expectations and processes
- Foster employee growth and development through coaching, feedback, and training opportunities
- Recommend and develop smart growth strategies while effectively leading through changes in the department.
- Model, establish, and maintain high professionalism expectations for themselves and the Support Services team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of documented supervisor experience in the provision of personal care services or a college degree in health care services plus at least one year of work experience in health care during the last 10 years or a college degree in any field plus two years of work experience in health care during the last 10 years.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with HCBS services is strongly preferred.
- Be able to communicate and understand various means of communication.
- Must have successfully completed CDPHE approved Home Care Agency Manager training and must be willing to fulfill the annual 12-hour training requirement.
- Be familiar with applicable federal and state rules and regulations for licensed and non-licensed HCBS services.
- Must be willing to submit to background checks including fingerprinting, criminal background checks, and Department of Regulatory Agencies checks.
- Strong understanding of person centered and dignity of risk principles
- Strong understanding of the HCBS Final Settings Rule
- Knowledge of Electronic Visit Verification requirements
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Office-based work environment with some travel to community-based locations.
- Computer proficiency is expected including intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft office applications and web and phone-based applications.
- Intermediate understanding of electronic and non-electronic office related equipment is required (i.e. fax machine, copier, common office supplies, etc.)
- Must be able to deliver nonskilled personal care services that may include transferring children and adults with disabilities under the direction of nursing protocols and training. This may include lifting, pivoting, bending, reaching, pushing or kneeling with or without assistance.
- Must be able to perform an office-based job for nine (9) hours per day with the ability to travel with or without accommodation to community-based settings across the front range to supervise or provide services, attend meetings, or to conduct other types of business off site from the primary work location.
- Must be willing to obtain an annual flu vaccination or provide a qualified exemption and documentation.
