Main Responsibilities
- Design and define the optimal supply chain and packaging strategy for new projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service while minimizing costs and inventory levels.
- Develop supply chain concepts covering inbound, outbound, internal logistics, material flows, information flows, and customer delivery processes in close collaboration with manufacturing teams and plant operations.
- Calculate and manage project-related supply chain and packaging budgets, including cost-per-part analyses, logistics investments, and packaging expenditures.
- Ensure quotations and project assumptions are based on standardized equipment, processes, and best practices.
- Identify, assess, and escalate potential industrial, logistics, or packaging-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define optimal inventory and stock levels across the supply chain with a focus on lead-time reduction, efficiency, and service performance.
- Develop packaging specifications for semi-finished and finished products, translating customer requirements into practical and cost-effective packaging solutions.
- Collaborate with assembly engineers, manufacturing project managers, suppliers, and plant teams to ensure packaging solutions meet operational and customer requirements.
- Coordinate the development, testing, validation, and implementation of packaging equipment and materials, ensuring readiness for production trials and customer approvals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean principles and supply chain optimization methodologies to enhance logistics performance and operational efficiency.
Required Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
- Experience in supply chain engineering, plant logistics, packaging engineering, or a comparable role within a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain design, logistics processes, inventory management, packaging development, and material flow optimization.
- Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain optimization tools.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including the ability to work with 3D visualization or CAD viewer software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to lead initiatives and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bilingual English-Spanish.
