We are now looking for a Safety Manager. This position will be located in Changshu, China. In this role, you will lead the mill's safety management and security operations, drive continuous improvement in safety performance, and ensure compliance with legal requirements, UPM standards, and ISO 45001 management system

What you will do

· Develop and implement safety plans in Changshu mill with high standard according to legal guidelines, national compulsory standards and UPM safety standards ensuring that they are being followed daily. Prepare and enforce polices and local safety standards to establish a high standard safety culture

· Manage the ISO45001 management system and mill security, including mill security guard management, and lead the safety reference groups to enhance local safety standards implementation

· Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and compliance with legal requirements

· Conduct training and presentations for safety matters and accident prevention. Organize management team regular safety walks and inspections

· Analyse safety performance metrics for continuous improvement and keep management advised of significant safety issues with expertise. Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

· Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident. Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents and related events. Reports on safety awareness, issues and statistics

· Lead the safety team to support each production units to improve safety performance. Build a high-performing team and conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and coaching to team members

· Establish and develop effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to work collaboratively to achieve safety target. Effectively communicate with safety regulators and safety agencies, such as fire brigade, insurance personnel and special equipment safety supervision inspection and research institute

Who you are

· You have Bachelor's degree in safety or proven experience as safety manager, and Registered safety engineer

· You have more than 10 years of management experience, at least 5 years of experience working in multinational companies

· You are accountable, proactive can-do attitude, willingness to learn

· You have deep understanding of legal safety guidelines and mandatory policies, and good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

· You have exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to influence decisions and plans

· You have ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies, as well as excellent organizational and motivational skills

· You have ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines, and experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software

· You are fluent in written and spoken English, with outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
