How you’ll make an impact
The Pricing Manager – Platforms is expected to make an impact by supporting sustainable platform profitability through disciplined pricing analysis, margin optimisation and commercial insight. The role helps deliver pricing recommendations, fees and incentives that support platform cashflow retention and growth.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the analysis, recommendation, presentation and implementation of strategic and individual pricing deals, including pricing of new and in-force business, to support retention and growth of platform cashflow.
- Assist in the design and implementation of pricing strategy for AMP’s Platforms portfolio to support strategic plan objectives.
- Assist in the optimisation of product margins and profitability for the Platforms portfolio.
- Assist in the design and recommendation of fees and incentives for the Platforms portfolio.
- Analyse and communicate the impact of pricing initiatives, including test-and-learn activity.
- Undertake continuous improvement initiatives to improve personal and team productivity.
- Ensure product and offer pricing is compliant and operates within AMP’s risk appetite
What you will bring to the team
Ideally, you will bring the following experiences to this role:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant business discipline, such as actuarial studies, accounting, finance, business or a similar field. Actuary qualification preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated experience in margin and profit management
Specific to this role :
- Pricing analysis and capability: Uses SQL, data analysis and advanced Excel skills to support pricing analysis, methodologies, assumptions, models and recommendations for the Platforms portfolio.
- Platform market knowledge: Applies understanding of investment and superannuation platform markets, competitors, legislation and compliance requirements.
- Commercial and financial awareness: Understands capital, profit, value measures, product margin drivers and the financial implications of business plans and initiatives.
- Test-and-learn approach: Supports the design and execution of test-and-learn pricing techniques and communicates outcomes.
- Analysis and problem solving: Interprets data to identify issues, trends and emerging problems, and provides practical advice and solutions.
- Delivery support: Supports implementation activity, follows through on agreed outcomes and contributes to continuous improvement.
- Decision-making: Applies sound judgement in commercial and stakeholder environments.
- Clear communication: Prepares and presents clear analysis, recommendations and updates for stakeholders.
- Team and customer focus: Works effectively as part of a team and looks for efficient, agile ways to deliver for customers
