Apprentice Electrician – Operations & Maintenance

Are you an electrical apprentice looking to build a career troubleshooting and maintaining commercial solar energy systems?

Namaste Solar's Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Team is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to support the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems throughout Colorado.

This position is ideal for an apprentice with a foundational understanding of electrical systems who is looking to expand their skills through hands-on field experience. Working alongside experienced O&M technicians, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of equipment, technologies, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting scenarios while developing the skills required to become a highly skilled O&M electrician.

O&M Apprentice Electrician Core Responsibilities:

- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems.

- Conduct electrical and mechanical testing, inspections, and diagnostic activities.

- Troubleshoot and repair solar PV systems and associated equipment.

- Complete corrective maintenance and equipment replacement activities.

- Document field work, inspection findings, test results, and service activities using company software platforms.

- Communicate professionally with customers and team members.

- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and apprenticeship training

Required Qualifications

- Active electrical apprentice registration or ability to obtain registration upon hire.

- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

- Ability to travel throughout Colorado, including occasional overnight travel.

- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Basic computer and mobile-device proficiency.

- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

- Professional communication skills and willingness to interact with customers when required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous electrical construction, service, maintenance, or solar experience.

- Documented apprenticeship hours.

- Commercial electrical experience.

- Solar photovoltaic experience.

- Experience using electrical test equipment.

- Experience reading electrical drawings and equipment documentation.

- Experience documenting work using mobile software applications.

- OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, or other safety training.

Work Schedule

- Your workday will begin at 7:00 AM.

- Our work is outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Occasional overnight travel within the state of Colorado and an active driver's license.

- This position will occasionally require "on-call" coverage one weekend day.

- Opportunities for overtime, but not a requirement.

Compensation and Benefits

- Wage increases every 6 months during your four-year apprenticeship.

- Financial support to complete Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain's (IECRM) four-year electrical apprenticeship program.
