Unified Job Description – Coastal & Marine Engineering

Role Summary

The Coastal & Marine Engineer delivers coastal, marine, and hydraulic engineering assessments to support infrastructure and nuclear‑related project environments. Work includes coastal process evaluation, marine structure design support, modelling, risk assessment, and integrated design development with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of coastal and marine engineering assessments, including coastal protection and marine structures for cooling‑water systems.

• Production and review of calculations, models, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.

• Development of design substantiation and technical justifications aligned with project, regulatory, and governance requirements.

• Collaboration with civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

• Assessment of coastal processes, wave loading, scour, flooding, erosion, and climate‑change impacts on infrastructure.

• Participation in design reviews, technical assurance activities, and resolution of engineering queries.

• Ensuring compliance with codes, standards, quality requirements, and CDM 2015 obligations.

• Engagement with stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to support safe, sustainable, and resilient design outcomes.
