About the role
This is a rare opportunity to work at the centre of Bunnings, partnering directly with our recently appointed Managing Director and helping create the focus, connections and momentum that support the wider business.
As Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, you’ll be a trusted partner who looks ahead, makes sense of competing priorities and helps ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. You’ll connect across Bunnings, Wesfarmers, our Board, Executive Leadership Team and important external stakeholders, gaining a broad view of the business and contributing to work that has genuine enterprise-wide impact.

What's involved
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Partner closely with the Managing Director to shape priorities, support a complex calendar and inbox, coordinate travel and protect time for the matters that have the greatest business impact
- Provides broader leadership and effective teamwork with broader EA group at Bunnings
- Anticipate upcoming commitments, identify potential issues and ensure meetings and decisions are supported by clear, accurate and timely information
- Prepare and coordinate briefings, correspondence, meeting materials and follow-up actions
- Build trusted working relationships with Board members, executive leaders, Wesfarmers colleagues and senior internal and external stakeholders
- Support key leadership and governance forums by coordinating agendas, papers, logistics, decisions and actions
- Handle sensitive commercial, people, legal and governance matters with care, discretion and sound judgement
- Work closely with Executive Assistants across Bunnings to coordinate priorities, share knowledge and strengthen consistent ways of working
- Find practical opportunities to simplify administration, improve information flow and make meetings and planning more effective
- Use Microsoft 365, AI and other digital tools responsibly to improve quality, insight and efficiency, streamline process and reduce admin.
This is a visible and fast-moving role where priorities can change quickly. You’ll have the scope to solve problems, strengthen relationships and help leaders and teams stay connected and focused.
About You
You’re an experienced executive support professional who brings calm thinking, excellent judgement and strong attention to detail. You enjoy working in a busy environment, can confidently navigate changing priorities and know when to act independently, when to seek context and when to escalate.
You communicate clearly and build trust with people at every level. You can connect information across different parts of a business, understand stakeholder sensitivities and turn complex material into practical next steps.
You’ll join a collaborative network of Executive Assistants who share information, support one another and care about delivering a seamless experience for leaders, team members and stakeholders. Inspiring you to give it a red hot go , the team will encourage you to contribute ideas, build capability and help shape better ways of working.
What you'll need
- At least five years’ experience supporting a Managing Director, CEO, Board or comparable senior executive
- Experience working with commercially sensitive, confidential or reputational matters
- Strong calendar, inbox, meeting and travel management skills across complex stakeholder groups
- Experience supporting Board, executive leadership or governance processes in a large or complex organisation
- Advanced written communication, editing, briefing and presentation skills
- Confidence engaging with senior leaders and influencing outcomes without direct authority
- Advanced Microsoft 365 capability and a practical approach to using AI and digital tools responsibly
- A Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Governance or a related field is valued, but not essential
