About the Role

We are looking for an IT/OT Engineer to support and maintain the terminal's Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure at our Buenaventura Terminal. In this role, you will help ensure secure, reliable, and stable technology operations by providing infrastructure administration, operational support, troubleshooting, and technical expertise across both IT and OT environments. You will work closely with local and regional technology teams to support critical terminal operations, technology upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain IT and OT infrastructure to ensure secure, stable, and reliable terminal operations.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup solutions, and network infrastructure.
- Support technology upgrades, infrastructure changes, lifecycle replacements, and modernization initiatives.
- Maintain and support OT technologies including CCTV, OCR, biometric systems, Vehicle Mounted Terminals (VMTs), and industrial network devices.
- Provide L2/L3 support, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate escalations when required.
- Execute patch management, vulnerability remediation, backup validation, disaster recovery activities, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset inventories, infrastructure diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with APM Terminals technology standards, cybersecurity requirements, change management processes, and operational governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, automation, operational efficiency, and service quality.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

- A strong continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving and operational excellence.
- Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, servers, virtualization, storage, and backup environments.
- Working knowledge of Operational Technology environments and devices such as CCTV, OCR, biometric systems, industrial networks, or related technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, patch management, system monitoring, and technology governance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with regional teams, vendors, service providers, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining technical documentation and asset inventories.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
