In this role, you will:
- The purpose of the role is to ensure the end-to-end preparation and review of COREP Large Exposures reporting for HCIB (NRFB UK and HBCE), submitted to the PRA and ECB, is completed accurately and delivered within the required timelines. The role is to act as a subject matter expert and to be able to review and challenge results and provide guidance and recommendations for adjustments. Assist with data quality issue detection to ensure accurate month end data. Regulatory reporting experience & understanding of PRA/EU regulations of large exposure reporting.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including Helios requirements for control documentation and continuous monitoring; assess control design and operating effectiveness, and ensure timely closure of internal/external audit actions and regulator-raised issues. The role will include supporting the project/BAU resources, including requirements setting and UAT. Understanding HSBC's risk and finance systems to ensure the correct data within the reports.
- Support Regional/Group head of Wholesale Credit Risk Reporting and manages various aspects of day-to-day functioning of the team based out of the GSC’s. Ensure seamless production of BAU MI supporting Businesses, WCR Senior Management, Group, Finance and Analytics. Collaborate with other wholesale credit risk teams to share best practices team as well as with other GSC teams.
- Drive process efficiency and identify opportunities of streamlining and automation. Generate ideas and collaborate with Group/Regional business heads to make the process more relevant vis-à-vis, the current market trends. Working with technical, finance and business stakeholders to improve processes.
- Drive initiatives to support Head of the Business process by taking responsibilities pertaining to Hiring/Learning and Development/Technology. Collaborate with Data teams to mitigate data quality issues to ensure accurate month end data. The role holder will be leading Group regulatory & MI reporting team.
- Support the development and build-out of risk system architecture and other transformation initiatives. Ensure seamless delivery of ad-hoc requests from onshore business partners to provide data, report and analysis based on business and Senior Management requirements.
- Assist credit and wholesale businesses by providing accurate and useful risk management tools. Regularly manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Identify measures and controls credit risk throughout the institution by participating in credit risk projects. Understand Credit Policy, procedures and guidelines to account for changing regulatory, economic and political environments. Analyses related reports to manage risk.
- Drive process efficiencies through automation and streamlining initiatives to improve service delivery and optimize cost effectiveness. Support various activities related to continuous, spontaneous, and targeted reviews by Internal Audit and regulators
- Coordinate with business, finance, and other risk functions to address issues as and when required. Guide and mentor junior members in the team to deliver key business objectives and help them drive quality solutions from GSC and create capability
To be successful you will:
- Post-Graduate in Engineering/Finance/Economics/Statistics or related field. Have a deep understanding of large exposures regulation and reporting and the related challenges
- Have a deep understanding of the bank’s systems and data that make up the large exposure report. Professional experience of 12+ years in a financial services or consulting firm
- Prior experience in dealing with virtual business partners across the globe. Good communication skills (oral and written) and good interpersonal skills with positive attitude are essential.
- Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines as required. Ability to deal with a multi-stakeholder relationship in a complex environment
- Willing to work with colleagues in other areas/time zones. Knowledge of HSBC Group, its operations, systems, products, and risk systems preferably
- Good analytical skills
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency and intermediate proficiency on other MS office suite applications.
- Experience working with MI visualization tools such as Tableau / Qlik sense/Business Objects is good to have
- Knowledge of SQL/ SAS/Python/Alteryx/R is good to have.
