[What the role is]
The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.
We are looking for solutions-driven, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment.
[What you will be working on]
You will play a key role in administering and shaping building regulations and policies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and approving building plan submissions, using your technical knowledge to evaluate designs for safety, environmental sustainability, and barrier-free accessibility.
- Developing strategies, policies, and processes to ensure Singapore's building control framework remains robust and future-ready.
- Studying data and industry trends to support evidence-based policy decisions that shape how Singapore builds.
- Managing complex feedback cases and conducting investigations into potential violations of the Building Control Act and Regulations, taking appropriate enforcement action where needed.
- Working closely with partner agencies to create a pro-business environment that supports a thriving construction industry while ensuring construction productivity.
[What we are looking for]
- A degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Architecture or Building-related discipline.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in building design or construction supervision is preferred.
- Expertise in a technical area under the Approved Document will be an advantage.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Good analytical, writing and communication skills.
