Key responsibilities

1. Dispatch & Outbound Operations

· Manage daily dispatch planning as per customer orders and production availability.

· Ensure timely vehicle placement and execution of dispatches as per schedule.

· Monitor dispatch adherence against monthly and daily plans.

· Ensure all dispatch documentation (Invoice, E-way Bill, Delivery Challan, LR, Export Documents, etc.) is accurate and compliant.

· Minimize dispatch delays and ensure customer service commitments are met.

· Coordinate with sales, planning, customer service, and production teams for smooth order fulfillment.

· Develop annual logistics strategy aligned with business objectives.

· Prepare and manage logistics budget and drive cost optimization initiatives.

· Review logistics KPIs and implement improvement plans.

· Drive governance through periodic reviews with transporters and service providers.

· Ensure business continuity through logistics risk assessment and contingency planning.

2. Logistics & Transportation Management

· Manage transportation partners, fleet operators, and logistics service providers.

· Optimize freight costs through route planning and load utilization.

· Monitor vehicle turnaround time (TAT) and improve logistics efficiency.

· Ensure availability of vehicles for domestic and export shipments.

· Resolve transportation issues impacting deliveries.

· Track shipment movement and ensure timely delivery to customers. Evaluate logistics service providers. Monitor transporter performance through defined KPIs. Drive vendor compliance.

3. Warehouse & Inventory Management

· Oversee finished goods warehousing operations.

· Ensure proper storage, stacking, preservation, and handling of materials.

· Drive inventory accuracy through periodic audits and cycle counting.

· Monitor stock aging and inventory health.

· Ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance wherever applicable.

· Control inventory losses, damages, and shortages.

· Drive SAP logistics excellence and master data accuracy.

· Implement digital dashboards for OTIF, freight cost, vehicle turnaround time, and warehouse productivity.

· Improve logistics visibility through automation and analytics.

· Lead digital initiatives for gate management, vehicle tracking, and warehouse management.

4. Production Coordination & Planning

· Collaborate with production teams for dispatch scheduling.

· Align finished goods availability with customer demand.

· Participate in S&OP and production planning discussions.

· Support capacity planning by ensuring timely evacuation of finished goods.

5. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management

· Ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance.

· Handle customer complaints related to dispatches and deliveries.

· Coordinate with Sales, SCM, Procurement, Finance, and Plant Operations.

· Maintain strong relationships with transporters and logistics partners.

6. Safety, Quality & Compliance

· Ensure compliance with road transport, GST, E-Way Bill, legal metrology, and statutory requirements.

· Drive warehouse and logistics safety standards.

· Ensure adherence to EHS guidelines during loading/unloading operations.

· Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.

· Ensure compliance with ISO, Responsible Care, and internal quality systems.

7. Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

· Drive logistics cost reduction initiatives.

· Improve warehouse productivity and manpower efficiency.

· Implement digitalization and process automation projects.

· Lead Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives within logistics operations.

· Reduce detention, demurrage, freight, and inventory carrying costs.

8. Team Leadership & People Management

· Lead dispatch, warehouse, and logistics teams.

· Develop team capability through coaching and training.

· Monitor manpower productivity and performance.

· Drive employee engagement and discipline within the function.

· Ensure succession planning for critical logistics roles.

Who are we looking for?

Education

· Bachelor’s or master's in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field

Experience

· 12-15 years of experience in Logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

· Experience in driving digital initiatives and system improvements in supply chain functions preferred

Skills

· Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability

· Leadership capability with a focus on team development

· Digital mindset with exposure to automation and data-driven quality systems

· Strategic thinking with strong execution orientation

· Effective communication and stakeholder management
