As an intern in the ZEISS Automation & Integration team, you will work closely with the Concept Team and Mechanical Engineering. You will support the development of customized automation solutions for loading and unloading ZEISS measuring systems such as CMMs, ScanBoxes, CT systems or microscopes. These solutions typically include fully automated or semi-automated workflows for applications in quality labs, the automotive industry, manufacturing, medical technology, electronics and other industrial fields.

Your Role

With us, you can combine your studies with practical experience, contribute your own ideas and expand your knowledge in automation, layout planning, mechanical design and simulation.

- Independent and self-responsible development and elaboration of automation concepts for customer-specific systems
- Creation and preparation of system layouts, concept layouts and presentations in German and English
- Creation of process and robot simulations for semi-automated and automated loading solutions, including pallet transport, shuttle and part-handling systems
- 3D design of components and assemblies, including the creation of manufacturing drawings

Your Profile

- You are studying automation technology, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable degree program and have ideally already successfully completed at least two years of your studies
- You are enthusiastic about modern automation solutions such as conveyor technology, loading systems, robotics, AGVs, pallet transport and shuttle systems, and enjoy independently familiarizing yourself with new technical topics
- You have good knowledge of CREO or comparable CAD systems as well as strong MS Office skills, and use them confidently to develop, present and document technical content
- You work in a structured, independent, goal- and results-oriented manner and are able to drive technical tasks forward on your own responsibility
- You communicate confidently in German and English with internal interfaces and ideally also with customers, and enjoy working in agile, interdisciplinary and international teams

The following will be considered an advantage

- First experience with robots or robot simulations
- Knowledge of Visual Components
- Programming skills to automate recurring tasks or the layout creation process
- First practical experience in industry
