We are looking for a Weighbridge Clerk to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transport and site activities. Acting as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, and operational teams, you will help coordinate daily transport movements while maintaining excellent service standards and compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Weighbridge Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing daily weighbridge activities and supporting the effective coordination of transport operations. Your duties will include:
- Processing vehicle movements and site resources on a daily basis.
- Coordinating fleet and driver resources to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Liaising with customers, drivers, planners, and operational teams to ensure deliveries are completed on time.
- Maintaining accurate records and transport databases.
- Supporting the delivery of centralised transport plans.
- Managing drivers on a day-to-day basis and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Working closely with maintenance teams, operational sites, and planning offices.
- Conducting site inductions where required.
- Monitoring and investigating customer complaints, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Ensuring tachograph records are analysed and maintained.
- Supporting high standards of vehicle presentation and housekeeping.
- Following all Health, Safety, Environmental, and IMS procedures.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who can confidently coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Essential Skills & Experienc e
- Knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing or coordinating driver and fleet resources.
- Strong IT and administration skills.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- Ability to make informed decisions and use sound judgement.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- A proactive, flexible, and committed approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Knowledge of inert waste reception processes.
- Experience working within transport, logistics, recycling, waste management, aggregates, or construction sectors.
