About the Position

We are hiring Utility Workers to support daily operations in a busy industrial mill environment. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position involving general labor, material handling, housekeeping, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and extended periods on your feet.

This is primarily a manual labor position, not a forklift position. Forklift operation may only make up a small portion of the job. Candidates should be comfortable performing a variety of physical tasks throughout the mill.

Must be flexible and available to work all shifts:

- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This is a rotating shift position. The schedule for the following week is posted every Thursday.

Steel-toe shoes are required.

Responsibilities

- Perform general labor and utility duties throughout the mill
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Pick up paper, debris, waste, and other materials
- Dump hoppers and trash
- Clean floors, walls, and other areas of the facility
- Assist with housekeeping audit items
- Support both dry-end and wet-end operations as needed
- Operate a forklift when required and properly trained
- Move materials, supplies, and production waste
- Assist with moving rolls using overhead cranes when trained
- Cut cores and assist with slabbing and banding rolls
- Keep supplies stocked throughout the mill
- Use basic hand tools and industrial equipment
- Follow all plant safety procedures and OSHA requirements
- Fill in for other entry-level positions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

- High school diploma or GED
- Previous heavy industrial experience required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical work
- Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment
- Ability to use basic hand tools and industrial equipment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Steel-toe shoes required

Equipment Experience

Experience with the following is a plus:

- Forklift / Fork Truck
- Clamp Truck
- Yard Tractor
- Banding Machine
- Roll Pusher
- Utility Knife
- Basic Hand Tools
- Other Mobile Industrial Equipment

Physical Requirements

This is a labor-intensive position. Candidates must be comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift, including:

- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling
- Bending and kneeling
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Working around industrial equipment
- Working at heights or in confined spaces when required and properly trained
