Facilities Technology & Space Planning Manager

Please Note; As per current corporate policy, you will be required to be in the office @ Georgia Power HQ, 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA a minimum of 4 Days per week (Currently Mon thru Thur.) and/or as additionally required.

This position will report directly to the Facilities Director (GPC) & will require occasional travel to various company locations.

Job Summary: The Technology and Space Planning Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, governance, and ensuring implementation of Facilities technology initiatives across the organization. This position will develop and provide oversight for the Facilities technology Roadmap, ensuring that ARCHIBUS and related technology platforms are being integrated into business processes along with reporting dashboards to provide data-driven insights.

This leader will oversee governance for strategic planning and optimal utilization of physical spaces within Southern Company (for GPC, GAS, SCS – GA and Washington, D.C.). This role ensures that all spaces align with company strategic direction and are functional, consistent, cost-efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards.

The manager will also oversee (13) employees on the Facilities Audio-Visual (AV) technology team, the Facilities Move team, a capital project Cost Analyst, and the GPC Corporate Archivist. The role will develop strategies for furniture/artwork inventory management, oversight for capital project costs, and process improvement initiatives, to create an efficient and innovative work environment for the entire Facilities organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technology Strategy & Governance
Develop and provide oversight for the Facilities technology Roadmap to align organizational objectives and business priorities.
- Responsible for leading business readiness and change management efforts needed for the continued execution of the Facilities Technology Roadmap
- Establish technology standards, governance practices, data management strategies, and system administration procedures.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to support digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead long-term planning efforts related to Facilities technology investments and platform enhancements.

- Space Planning and Governance Oversight:

- Develop and implement space planning strategies that align with each company's goals and objectives. Create efficiencies using technology and consistency.

Involved in the purchasing and selling of buildings and associated property to meet current and future business needs. Will play a role in campus planning activities.

- Establish understanding and implementation of space standards as the evolve with

company culture.

- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to space utilization, AV

systems, and facilities management where applicable.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to governance

policies.

- Audio-Visual (AV) Systems:

- Oversee the standardization, design, installation, and maintenance of AV systems to ensure they meet the needs of the organization.
- Work closely with Technology organization to provide seamless support for AV technologies and ensure equipment uptime.
- Take ownership for maintenance & troubleshooting of rooms with complex AV systems and capital installations for new standard Teams rooms.
- Ensure AV systems are user-friendly and provide training to staff as necessary.

4. Process Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvement within space planning, design, and facilities management.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and accelerate design through lessons learned, consistency and process improvement.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Find opportunities to better utilize technology in all facilities functions and areas.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in various Southern Company business units preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of formal leadership experience.
- Understanding of AV systems and technology integration.
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements (asset transfers, accounting
- procedures, etc.)
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and Microsoft Office Suite.
