🙌 The role
Your overarching goal as Kitchen and Facility Assistant is to ensure the Education Center’s cleanliness, and handle the children’s meals, by always applying the appropriate care and food hygiene practices. During your day to day, you will cover the following areas:
- Prepare all Food service areas for the days business
- Receive and prepare all 3rd party vendors food supplies, storing them safely and serving at the designated meal times
- Ensure the prompt service of all meals to the company / clients standards.
- To ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with company expectations.
- Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away any food, beverage or equipment required
- Prepare all food for sale/service, following good hygiene and safety practices and to the standard specified.
- Restock and replenish stocks and consumables as required
- Complete all / any necessary cleaning/hygiene duties, across the entire Education Centre, including the kitchen, dining space, toilets, classrooms and communal areas.
- Serve all families and children to the standards of Boundless Life’s hospitality service requirements
- Empty, remove and store rubbish / recycle rubbish in the correct place.
- Assist the Education Centre Director or General Manager of the location in the planning menus to offer variety, maximise on the use of seasonal products, and comply with any dietary requirements specified by the children.
- Liaise daily with the catering partner to ensure timely deliveries and confirm attention to dietary requirements or necessary changes to meals and supplies provided.
- To assist in placing orders in accordance with the company purchasing policy.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in line with current health & safety regulations.
- To ensure all areas across the Education Centre are left in a clean state at the end of each shift.
- To attend meetings and training courses as required.
- Be prepared to occasionally work evening and/or weekend for functions and events.
- Carry out other cleaning duties as needed
- Provide ad hoc support to the housekeeping team during peak times upon request
General Responsibilities
- Ensure attendance to all staff meetings as required.
- Ensure that all policies and procedural requirements of both legislation and company are adhered.
- Ensure that the correct uniform is worn neatly and cleanly at all times.
- To ensure personal presentation is of the highest standard at all times.
- Ensure all necessary checks are carried out in the service and associated areas for food temperatures.
- Carry out all reasonable requests of the management.
- As required, provide cover for other staff during periods of absence.
- Be conscientious with regard to Health & Safety and report any hazards to the business
