Position Summary:
Sets up and starts production job as required to meet schedules and customer commitments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains cycle and process integrity for all manufacturing equipment with the direction of the Production Supervisor.
- Works with support department to ensure tools, machines and processes are optimized. Recommends and implements changes and improvements to cycles, processes, and procedures to maintain schedule and quality parts.
- Maintain documentation and paperwork to support production cycles and procedures. Works directly with Technicians to suggest improvements in processes and procedures. Complete documentation audits to ensure parameters are within acceptable limits.
- Helps train and provide guidance on production issues to Setup personnel and Technicians to enhance knowledge and experience in all aspects of the production floor.
- Works with the Machine Operators to learn and improve current processes and procedures.
- Performs setups, samples, and other production related duties to maintain production schedules and on time delivery of parts to customers.
- Works on all presses as production requirements dictate.
- Assist with training new personnel as necessary.
- Keeps work area cleaned and maintained.
- Ability to work overtime.

Qualifications
Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, plastic injection molding experience required.
- Shows mechanical aptitude and show an ability to learn and practice correct molding and setup methods.
- Displays a good attitude towards learning new jobs and procedures and work towards minimal supervision needed to accomplish daily duties.
- Capable of interfacing and leading team members as needed and direct as required by production schedules.
- Must be able to read machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
- Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
Education and Job Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years of set up experience required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Available to training in new equipment and machinery as they are procured. Keeping education and background up to current industry standards through willingness to attend seminars, read periodicals and seek advanced education.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Subject to intermittent and changing noise levels from operating machines.
- Physical hazards from moving and handling equipment and machine parts.
- Breathing fumes, dust, and mist
- Skin exposure to oils, cutting fluid and multiple steel types.
- Stand, walk, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
- Pushing, pulling, and lifting approximately 10- 50 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Exert 50 to 100 pounds of force minimally.
- Prolonged periods of standing, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (e.g., ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.) and following good manufacturing practices.
