About this role:

Oversee and inspect mechanical installation works on construction projects, ensuring that all activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inspect mechanical installation works, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems
- Review and verify mechanical installations against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable codes and standards
- Monitor contractors' and subcontractors' work to ensure compliance with approved materials, workmanship, and project requirements
- Conduct inspections and witness testing, commissioning, and performance testing activities as required
- Identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conforming works and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Review inspection requests (IRs), material inspection requests (MIRs), test reports, and other quality-control documentation
- Inspect the installation of mechanical equipment, including pumps, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, fans, tanks, and other related equipment
- Monitor HVAC ductwork, piping, insulation, supports, valves, and associated installations
- Inspect plumbing, drainage, water supply, and firefighting systems where applicable
- Verify that equipment and materials installed on site match approved submittals and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, testing activities, and site progress
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve site issues and technical queries
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, as-built drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation where required
- Ensure mechanical works comply with applicable international standards, local regulations, and project specifications
- Monitor site safety practices related to mechanical installation works and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in site meetings and provide updates on inspection findings and outstanding issues
- Follow up on punch-list items and verify their completion prior to project handover
- Support testing, commissioning, and final handover activities

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical inspection, construction supervision, or quality control
- Experience working on construction projects, preferably within an engineering consultancy or contractor environment preferably experience with large-scale commercial, residential, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Good knowledge of mechanical building services, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical equipment installations
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documents
- Experience with inspection and quality-control procedures and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non-compliant work.
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant engineering/construction documentation systems
