About this role

Accountabilities:

- Develop territory business plans using analytical tools, market opportunities, and strategic direction from the broader organization.

- Drive territory performance by increasing prescribing activity and market share across the assigned geography.

- Manage and develop relationships with ophthalmologists and optometrists through a structured call plan and independent assessment of prescription activity and growth potential.

- Stay informed about managed care coverage and communicate relevant information effectively to healthcare providers.

- Apply and continuously refine clinical selling techniques to educate customers, demonstrate product value, and influence treatment and patient-management decisions.

- Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions that support appropriate product use and territory growth.

- Manage the promotional budget and determine expenditures on promotional activities in alignment with the territory business plan.

- Use available product samples in accordance with FDA guidelines to maximize the impact of promotional activities with the target audience.

- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with colleagues to achieve territory objectives.

- Maintain accurate administrative and customer-management activities using CRM and other relevant business systems.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or a related discipline; a relevant professional certification combined with ophthalmic experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

- Specialty pharmaceutical sales experience with a demonstrated record of successfully driving sales within an assigned territory.

- For the Ocular Specialty Representative level, 3+ years of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience with evidence of strong performance, such as goal attainment, awards, or formal recognition.

- For the Senior Ocular Specialty Representative level, 5+ years of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience with a proven record of success, along with demonstrated leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing, or influencing without authority.

- Ability to identify customer needs, develop tailored solutions, educate and influence healthcare professionals, and drive sales growth.

- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, manage customer accounts, and handle administrative responsibilities effectively.

- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, supported by strong financial and analytical capabilities.

- Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a customer-facing environment.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, or other CRM applications.

- Eye health industry experience is preferred.

- Experience with Power BI is preferred.

- Ability to work independently in a remote field-based environment while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with regional teams.

- Must reside within the assigned territory or within a reasonable distance of the territory workload center.

- Must be able to travel approximately 25%–50%, including some overnight travel depending on territory requirements.

- Must be able to drive throughout a large geographic territory for extended periods, travel by car and airplane within the U.S., stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 25 pounds.

- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets applicable standards.

- Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; employment visa sponsorship or transfer of sponsorship is not available.
