JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implement an EH& S Management System at Bangalore Works to meet Otis, Global Standards WWWJSS requirements.

2. Responsible for implementation of Environment Management System (EMS) as per ISO 14001.

3. Maintain effective communication and awareness on all safety, health and environmental matters.

4. Coordinate and conduct trainings required at various levels of employees and sub-contractors in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements (Trainings like JHA, Inspections, First-aid, Fire-fighting, Emergency response etc).

5. Liaison & coordinate with Pollution Control Board and other related agencies as & when necessary.

6. Prepare & Submit necessary Returns & Annual Statements to KSPCB on time.

7. Provide timely response to KSPCB communications/notices to ensure compliances.

8. Maintain a legal register and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

9. To develop & implement Subcon Safety management in accordance to Otis GS.

10. To ensure all EHS audits & Assurance Review findings are closed in the stipulated time frame.

11. To follow guidelines by government authorities for hazardous waste material.

12. Submit Monthly reports to WHQ on EHS – on time.

13. Develop and implement Emergency response/Fire plan.

14. Ensure proper working & availability of entire Fire detection & protection system which includes Hydrant, Sprinkler, Hose Reel, Novac, Foam, Extinguishers and Detection systems. Maintain the fire evacuation & response plan. Update as & when layout changes.

15. Ensure effective TPM of all the related EHS equipments.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation/ Diploma – Mechanical / Electrical branch preferred;

Mandatory to be qualified Environmental Engineer/ Officer.

Mandatory should have completed Degree/ Diploma in Safety Management from a recognized Government institute.

Qualification in Fire system Management is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 4 – 6 years of experience.
- Preferable to be Certified Lead auditor of ISO 14001 /18001 or such training program for safety.

ANY OTHER KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES IF REQUIRES

- Good Communication skills.
- Good awareness of safety and environmental issues and rules & regulations.
- Committed to EH&S objectives of the organization.
- Knowledge of computers.

- Able to lead / handle a team.
