About this role
At WeldFit, the position of Extrusion/Press Operator is responsible for the manufacture of extrusions and round-up pressing for extrusions, maintain, maintenance and equipment for productivity and safety by performing the duties and responsibilities below.
Other Duties / Expectations:
- Safety
Learn all safety precautions with regards to safe oppress operation including heating extrusions and rounding up various extruded products.
- Work and think safety at all times.
- Responds to verbal or written instructions for safety and security calls regarding machinery.
- Records
Records all inspections, tests and repairs on preventive maintenance stickers.
- Records written recommendations on improvements to reduce setup time and run time.
- Tools/Installation
Must have basic hand tools.
- Be proficient in measuring devices tape, level, and gauges.
- Installs special functional and structural parts and equipment.
- Inspects
Inspects damage parts, determines nature of repair and uses repair tools to rework or refurbish worn or damaged parts.
- Inspects, tests, and adjusts all systems, machinery and equipment on a regular basis.
- Performs checks and balances on machines to assure the proper functioning.
- Constructing
Reassembles equipment and tests performance as needed
- Basic understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic systems
- Miscellaneous
Performs other related duties as assigned
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends with minimum notice.
- Daily operation and maintenance of presses.
Experience Levels:
- Over a year, up to about 3 years of general experience / equivalent competence level on various machine operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb
- Capability of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- High Level of manual dexterity
