💰 Salary: Competitive -we want to find the right person for the role
🕘 Working Hours: Full-time - UK or Dubai working hours
📍 Location: Fully Remote
👥 Working With: Founder, Portfolio COO & Senior Leadership Team
The Opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional Portfolio Digital Marketing Officer to lead marketing strategy, growth and commercial performance across a portfolio of businesses, brands and offers.
This is not a conventional single-brand marketing role .
You will work closely with the Founder, COO and senior leadership team to shape and execute marketing strategy across multiple businesses at different stages of maturity - from established brands through to new offers, launches and growth initiatives.
Your role will be to create clarity across the portfolio: where growth should come from, which channels deserve investment, which offers are underperforming, where positioning needs to change, and where marketing resource should be deployed for maximum commercial return.
This role requires both strategic leadership and strong digital marketing depth . You must be comfortable operating at executive level while understanding the mechanics of funnels, paid media, conversion, lifecycle marketing, CRM, content, organic acquisition and digital product marketing well enough to challenge teams and drive better outcomes.
You will not be expected to personally execute every campaign or channel. Your role is to build the strategy, set the standard, allocate resources, create accountability and ensure marketing activity translates into measurable commercial growth.
🎯 Portfolio Marketing Strategy
You will:
- Develop and own the overarching marketing strategy across the portfolio.
- Translate business objectives into clear marketing priorities, growth plans and measurable targets.
- Identify the strongest growth opportunities across brands, products, markets and customer segments.
- Determine where marketing investment should increase, decrease or stop based on performance and commercial potential.
- Ensure individual brand strategies align with wider portfolio objectives without unnecessary duplication.
- Support the Founder and COO in evaluating new offers, markets, partnerships and acquisition opportunities from a marketing perspective.
- Maintain a clear view of the portfolio marketing roadmap, major launches, campaigns and strategic priorities.
📈 Growth & Commercial Performance
You will own marketing performance against commercial outcomes, including:
- Revenue
- Lead generation
- Customer acquisition
- Conversion
- Customer retention
- Return on marketing investment
You will monitor customer acquisition cost, ROAS, funnel conversion, lifetime value and other relevant performance measures, identifying underperforming funnels, campaigns and offers and ensuring corrective action is taken quickly.
You will work closely with Sales, Finance and Operations to improve forecasting and understand the full customer acquisition economics of each business.
A disciplined test-and-learn culture should underpin acquisition, conversion and retention, with marketing decisions supported by reliable data and clear attribution wherever possible.
💻 Digital Marketing Leadership
You will provide senior oversight across:
- Paid media
- Organic social
- Content marketing
- Email and lifecycle marketing
- CRM and marketing automation
- Funnel strategy
- Landing pages and conversion optimisation
- SEO and organic acquisition
- Webinar and VSL funnels
- Affiliate and partnership marketing
- Product launches
- Lead generation
- Customer retention and reactivation
- Digital analytics and attribution
You should be capable of evaluating the performance and strategic direction of each area without needing to personally operate every platform.
You need sufficient depth across these disciplines to challenge performance, diagnose issues and ensure the right people are delivering the work.
🎯 Brand & Positioning
You will ensure each brand within the portfolio has a clear positioning, target audience and market proposition.
This includes:
- Challenging weak or undifferentiated messaging.
- Maintaining consistency between brand promise, customer journey and product experience.
- Overseeing major brand, messaging and campaign decisions.
- Working with creative and content teams to ensure output supports commercial objectives while protecting brand integrity.
- Identifying where legacy positioning, creative or messaging is constraining growth.
👥 Marketing Organisation & Resource Allocation
You will be responsible for ensuring the right people, skills and resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities.
You will:
- Assess the structure, capability and effectiveness of internal and external marketing resources.
- Identify capability gaps and recommend recruitment, agency or technology solutions where required.
- Set clear ownership and performance expectations across marketing functions.
- Prevent duplication across brands and identify opportunities for shared infrastructure, systems and expertise.
- Build a high-performance marketing operating model across the portfolio.
- Ensure agencies and external partners are commercially accountable and deliver measurable value.
⚙️ Marketing Operations & Systems
You will ensure the marketing function has the systems and processes required to operate effectively.
This includes:
- Campaign planning, attribution, reporting and performance management.
- Establishing a reliable single source of truth for key marketing metrics.
- Improving CRM, automation and data infrastructure with Technology and Operations.
- Ensuring effective use of AI, automation and emerging technology.
- Reducing manual work and improving speed to market and marketing productivity.
- Establishing clear processes for campaign planning, testing, approval and post-campaign review.
🤝 Leadership & Cross-Functional Working
You will work across the organisation to ensure marketing is connected to wider commercial priorities.
This includes:
- Working directly with the Founder and COO on growth strategy and commercial priorities.
- Partnering with Sales to improve lead quality, conversion and revenue performance.
- Working with Product teams to ensure customer insight informs offer development.
- Collaborating with Finance on budgets, forecasting and marketing ROI.
- Coordinating with PR, Events and Brand teams on integrated campaigns.
- Providing senior marketing leadership and mentoring marketing leaders and specialists.
🚫 What This Role Is Not
This is not a role for someone who wants to personally run every campaign.
You will not be expected to:
- Personally build every funnel.
- Manage every paid campaign.
- Write every email.
- Approve every social post.
- Become the project manager for routine marketing execution.
- Spend your time pulling reports manually.
- Accept activity as a substitute for commercial performance.
There is, however, one area where ownership is absolute:
You will be expected to 100% own the profitability of every funnel across the portfolio.
This does not mean personally operating every element of every funnel.
It means knowing exactly how each funnel is performing, understanding the economics behind it, identifying where profitability is being lost, ensuring the right people are fixing it and being accountable for the commercial outcome.
You must always know:
- Which funnels are profitable and which are not.
- What CAC, conversion, AOV, LTV and payback period look like.
- Where margin is being eroded.
- Which offers should be scaled.
- Which require intervention.
- Which should be stopped.
You need to be able to go deep enough to diagnose a problem without becoming the person doing everyone else's job.
🧠 Skills & Experience
We are looking for a senior marketing leader with significant experience driving digital growth and commercial performance.
You should have:
- Significant experience in a CMO, Marketing Director, VP Marketing, Head of Growth or equivalent senior role.
- Strong experience in digital-first, direct-to-consumer, education, coaching, subscription, SaaS, information products or similarly performance-led environments.
- Demonstrable responsibility for revenue-generating marketing strategies.
- Strong understanding of paid acquisition, funnels, CRM, lifecycle marketing and conversion optimisation.
- Experience managing significant marketing budgets and making investment decisions based on ROI.
- Strong knowledge of customer acquisition economics, including CAC, LTV, ROAS and conversion.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary marketing teams.
- Strong analytical and commercial capability.
- Experience managing external agencies, freelancers and specialist partners.
- Strong understanding of brand positioning and customer messaging.
- Experience working with senior executives and Founders.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to move between strategic portfolio-level thinking and detailed performance analysis.
- Experience working across multiple businesses or brands simultaneously would be highly advantageous.
🔎 The Person We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is commercially obsessed .
You care about brand, creative and customer experience, but understand that marketing ultimately needs to generate profitable, sustainable growth .
You are comfortable challenging assumptions, legacy approaches and underperforming activity.
You do not simply accept:
“We’ve always done it this way.”
“The agency says the campaign is performing well.”
“Engagement is up.”
“The leads just aren’t converting.”
You want to understand the economics behind the statement .
You are highly analytical without being paralysed by data and highly creative without becoming subjective.
You are comfortable moving between a board-level conversation about market positioning and a detailed discussion about why a landing page is converting at 1.2%.
You understand the difference between managing marketing activity and leading a growth engine .
Most importantly, you can operate across multiple businesses without becoming consumed by whichever brand happens to be shouting the loudest.
📊 What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will be measured against:
- Revenue attributable to marketing.
- Marketing contribution to portfolio growth.
- Customer acquisition cost.
- Return on marketing investment.
- Return on ad spend where appropriate.
- Lead volume and quality.
- Lead-to-sale conversion rate.
- Funnel conversion rates.
- Customer lifetime value.
- Retention and repeat purchase performance where relevant.
- Marketing budget performance against forecast.
- Speed and effectiveness of testing.
- Performance improvement of underperforming funnels and campaigns.
- Delivery of major launches against commercial targets.
- Accuracy and reliability of marketing reporting.
- Reduction in duplicated or low-value marketing activity across the portfolio.
- Effectiveness and performance of internal teams and external agencies.
Specific numerical targets should be agreed by business and reviewed regularly rather than applying arbitrary portfolio-wide benchmarks.
🌍 Why Join Us?
This role would suit a senior marketing leader who has already proved they can grow one business and is ready to operate across a broader portfolio.
You will have:
- Significant autonomy.
- Direct access to the Chairman and Portfolio COO.
- Responsibility for shaping how marketing investment is deployed across multiple businesses.
- The opportunity to influence strategy across brands at different stages of maturity.
- A fully remote working environment, aligned to UK or Dubai working hours.
We are looking for someone who can see the whole portfolio, identify the greatest commercial opportunities and build the strategy, people, systems and accountability required to capture them.
